Pastor Reuben E. Dunckel, Jr. came to Richmond, Indiana in June of 2003. He has served with the Christian and Missionary Alliance since the fall of 1979. In that time, Pastor Reuben has pastored churches in Florida, Alabama and Ohio. While attending Taylor University, Upland, Indiana, Pastor Reuben lettered in varsity football and track during his freshman and sophomore years. He completed his college education at Toccoa Falls College, Toccoa Falls, Georgia with a BA in Bible & Theology with a minor in Pastoral Methods.
Pastor Reuben is the son of Reuben and Maxine Dunckel, both of Michigan. They made sure he had plenty of opportunity to experience God's plan for his life. By taking him faithfully to church, providing religious books, and offering him summers of Christian camping experiences at Beulah Beach, Vermilion, Ohio they set him on the path of discovering God's will for his future.
While at Beulah Beach in the summer of 1971, Pastor Reuben recommitted his life to Christ and was subsequently called into the pastoral ministry. Having once desired to pursue a career in marine biology, he altered his path to isolate on becoming a minister.
Pastor Reuben married Mona Gavagan, his high school sweetheart, in the summer of 1977. Having known her since grade school, it only seemed natural that they would continue to worship together for the remainder of their lives. Mona provides much stability to their lives and has been a rock-solid partner in the ministry. Their daughter and son-in-law (Brandon & Rhastina Blessing) have given Pastor and family their first grandson: Preston Clark Blessing born September 10, 2008. Pastor and Mona are looking forward to the experience of seeing their high school boys (Jeremiah and Joshua) graduate in the near future and move on to God's calling upon their lives.
